As part of my monthly post informing applicants for Federal Skilled Worker application FSW Canada status herewith is the Canada Visa Application Online Bulletin January 2012.
Old process application - applications filed November 2004 until February 26, 2008
Those who has received their Medical Notice - applications filed November 25, 2004
Those who has received their Visa's - Applications filed November 19, 2004
As mentioned in my previous posts, the reason for delay has to do with the backlog caused by the volume of applications they have received during this time. In the Old process, the occupations qualified to apply under the Federal Skilled Workers program were about 350 plus occupations. Causing a backlog of about a million application making the processing time become slower and slower.
At present applicants who filed in the old process are waiting for their application results for about 7 years.
Some of the applicants who's occupation were in the recent Ministerial Instructions, filed simultaneous applications to and benefited from the speed of the new procedure.
If you are one of the applicants who is still waiting for your application result under the old system, you can do the same but you would have to shell out money for the filing fee, as well as gather new documentation for reasons that the current regulation requires for an applicant to have complete documentation at the the beginning of the the application. This time the applicant also need to take the International English Language Testing System Test -IELTS results as part of the requirement.

On the other hand, if you just want to wait for the result of your filed application in the old system, you should still review for your IELTS, the embassy usually requires applicants to take the IELTS before they finalize your application.Ministerial Instruction 1 (MI1) - Applications filed February 28, 2008 until June 26, 2010
